9 Year Old With Pain In The Knee. X-ray Reports Normal. What Else Could Be The Reason?

I have a 9 year old little girl, who has been having on and off pain behind her knee for about 6 months now. I have taken her to the doctor for this twice now. Both times xrays were done and came back normal, blood tests were also done and came back normal. She is limping and in pain, at time she is crying. They are sending her to an orthopedic . What could be causing this?? This is so frustrating and confusing when you cant help your children.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Are the both knee joints having pain?

Any history of trauma?

Any history of swelling or fever?

These information is important to advise you in a better way.

Child needs further investigations like ultrasound knee joint and MRI of the knee joint to look for any local causes of the pain.

Nothing to worry and consult the Orthopedic surgeon with all the previous reports.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
