Active Acne, Hyperpigmentation. On Isotretinoin, Chemical Peel. Will It Get Better?

Hi doctor, i m a 25 year old female and i went to this dermatologist for active acne and she started me on isotretinoin nd combined chemical peel with salicyclic acid, my acne reduced a bit but i have developed dark hyper pigmentation on my cheek, i got really frustrated and then i checked he internet and i found out ur not supposed to combine peels with sotret. So i stopped going to the derm, rt now i m really frustrated the hyperpigmentation is worse, i stopped sotret its been a month, can u help me with this hyperpigmentation please.

Hi,

It seems that you are having post inflammatory hypermelanosis.

If acne are active, you first take treatment for acne.

Take antibiotics like minocycline till acne subside.

You may apply clindamycine on acne lesions.

For hyper pigmentation, apply kojic acid and vitamin C containing cream .

Orally, take vitamin C,nicotinic acid and glutathion.

Wash the face with kojic acid and glycolic acid containing face wash.
