Advise On ECl Method For HIV Test

hi .. i never had sex .. but i had french kiss (just french kiss and just very short time about 20 seconds) with my several boyfriends and it s belong to 3years ago actually 3years that i haven t any bf and about 1month ago i went to lab and gave hiv test ... it was hiv(1-2) ag/ab with ecl method and it was negative (result was 0.3) and less than 0.9 is nonreaction .. so what is ecl method? and can i not be worried? i m under stresss plzzzz help me :(((

Hello and welcome to HCM,
HIV infection is detected by ELISA test (probably this is the test that you have mentioned).
When there is suspicion of HIV infection, ELISA test is taken up.
If negative, the test is repeated after 3 months, since the test can come to be negative during window period.
If the test is again negative after 3 months the HIV infection is ruled out for all practical purposes.
If the ELISA test comes out to be positive, further confirmatory test has to be done i.e. western blot.

HIV infection can spread through kissing also.
