hi iam madhan from bangalore, i had sex with a sex worker on 29th december 2010, after that i consulted a doctor. He said i have to take HIV test after 6 months(180 days). Last week i did my HIV test, the result came negative(both HIV-I & HIV-II), i wnat to know, whether i have to do again HIV test& whether iam safe
yes always some possibilities are ther after negative hiv test result that you have done. because it detect antibodies against hiv virus and it produce after some tims and nobody can say it definitly after how much time it takes. so in this window period hiv test may be negative. for confirmation you should go for p24 antigen or pcr test. it will clear all picture.
