Advised Endometrial Biopsy And Colposcopy. Could I Have Papilloma Virus?
hello, i went to the doctor to have my self check and they send me a letter saying that I have to make an appointment for endometrial biopsy and a colposcopy ... I am very scare, I been doing research and not 100% sure but does this mean I could have a papilloma virus ? and also I been checking my self and I have never had to do this ? does this take a long time to figure out that I have some type of infection? and If results came now does this means is because of my partner that I am with could have give me this ? could this happen in a year ??
Hi. This depends on your previous report of ultrasound, your history and pap smear report if it has been done. If you have cervical erosion (getting discharge P/V off and on, itching vulva, foul smell)then your dr. wants to see the transformation zone on colposcopy where cervix is seen microscopically and any suspected lesion is visualised, confirmed by aceto white areas and biopsy taken if required.Similarly, tissue will be taken from endometrium for histopathological ex. Don't get scared. This all is for your benefit and to confirm what your dr. is suspecting. It does not mean it is HPV infection only. Thanks.
