After Sex And Before Periods I Get Fissures. Small Breaks In Vulva. No Rough Sex, Not Dry. Started After A Baby. Treatment?

Immediatly after sex and also right before my period (not sure if it's because of my period or not) I get fissures (small breaks in the vulva skin as well as very red, very tender and very very painful. Not sure how to fix this or what the cause is. I don't have "rough" sex and i'm not "dry" but it seems to always happen. This only started after I had a baby (which I had a c-section) and it has never happened before that. I have only ONE partner and we are both clean and STD free (always have been on both sides). I'm so sick of being in pain and I'm reluctant to have sex with my husband because of this, however this is not fair to him. Please help me.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Breaks in the vulval skin can occur due to trauma, dry skin, ulcers due to infection, etc.
You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical examination.
The depth of the skin fissures has to be examined.
Topical application of antibiotic ointment needs to be applied.
This will avoid infection of the superficial skin of the vulva.
Intercourse should be avoided till the time the fissures heal.
Look for similar fissures at other sites like near the perineum.
If multiple fissues are present, other disease process like crohns disease should be suspected.

A clinical examination is a must.
Relevant investigations and further management will be decided after clinical examination.

Thanks and take care
