Am I Cured With Normal US Report Of Abdomen

Hello Doc. I am 52 years old and had my urinalysis revealing 22-24 pus cells hpf two days ago. I drank ciprofloxacin and plenty of young coconut juice. I had my ultrasound this morning whole abdomen and the findings are normal. Does it mean I have recovered? Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Having 22 to 24 pus cell may indicate urinary tract infection , this is easily treated with Ciprofloxacin which is broad spectrum antibiotics .so hopefully you will be alright with this ,however urinary tract infection cannot be ruled out by a normal ultrasound.for this we need have a clear urine with a negative culture ,though the normal ultrasound is assuring that there is no complication. However if your symptoms are gone now , we do not need to confirm that UTI is cured , we generally advise to complete the course of antibiotics if symptoms are gone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
