Ankle Injury, No Swelling Or Discoloration, Pain. History Of Fractured Ankle. Good Or Bad Thing?
On forth of July week, a friend and I were breaking tree branches to put in the fire. One of them slid as a friend stomped on it and it hit me in the ankle. It still hurts today, and in the last few days started to hurt more. I don't feel much swelling, and I can't see any signs of discoloration. I have previously fractured the same ankle 6-7 years ago. Is this a good or a bad thing?
If you are walking normally without any issues, then a major bony injury (fracture) is very unlikely.
Propably you could have sustained a soft tissue injury leading to pain, swelling and discoloration. This is generally self limiting and subsides within few days with rest (activity limitation), ice packing, elastic compression bandages and foot end elevation.
If your symptoms are still persisting, then consult an orthopedic surgeon and follow his advice.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
