Any Advise For Having Painful Charley Horse In Knee?
I have had a charley horse twice this week in my knee. In trying to stand up there is a thwack with tendon/ muscle being released. It is very painful when it happens. What is this and should I see an orthopedist? I had arthroscopic surgery in that knee 3 years ago and had a lot of shredded cartiledge removed. I do have osteoarthritis in both my knees. I am 71 years old. What can you advise?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The constant charlie horse could be related to anxiety, muscle spasms or electrolyte imbalances. It is best to reduce your caffeine intake and get few blood tests done to find out. Relax your muscles, do not stand for a long time, maintain good body posture and wear flat heels. Regards.
