General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* The usual cause of pediatric diarrhoea is a viral infection or lactose intolerance.
* Oral rehydration salt is the gold standard therapy for diarrhoea at 6 months.
* So far as an antibiotic is concerned, it is not recommended without an in-person consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
