Any Side Effects With Taxim-O That Has Turned Dark Brown/bitter/foul Smell?

My son is 5 year 3 months old. He was having 101 fever and by mistake we have given him Taxim - O Forte suspension from an old bottle that was prepared more than a year back. Though it has not crossed the expiry date but the suspension has to be discarded after 7 days of reconstitution. Later we realized that the suspension had also turned dark brown, very bitter and foul smelling (the fresh suspension is whitish and tastes and smells fruity sweet. Pl let me know if this may have any side effects. Any symptons we should be careful of ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

If I were your family physician, I would advise you to observe your child closely for any change in the level of consciousness, vomiting, any rashes over any part of the body. You should also closely watch his respiration, and pulse rate. In case deterioration of any of these, you must shift him to an emergency room of the nearest hospital.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of this problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
