Any Suggestion For Having Negative Results With Hiv 1/2 Antibody Test Done For Slight Scratch On Skin?

I had a slight scratch on my skin by my own clipper although the barber used the same clipper to test the sharpness on his skin.there was no bleeding on his skin while there was just a long line on my face with no bleeding.I took the HIV1/2 antibody test at day 39 and it was negative.is this result conclusive?

Hi. Thanks or posting your concern at HCM

I can understand your concern but the risk of acquiring an HIV infection is practically nil because the virus does nt survive at all in dried secretions outside the body.

However the antibody test is too early to be done at this stage. HIV Antibodies can be detected on an average after 1 month of infection and in more than 90% after 3 months of infection

regards
