Any Suggestion For Painful Swollen Arm Where Deltoid Meets Bicep?
I was punched several times in the arm by a buddy because i flinched. But now my arm is swollen right where my deltiod meets my bicep (or tricep) it is incredibly painful and i can barely move my arm from its side. What do you suggest i do? Should i see a doctor? I have been icing it for 3 days now and still no improvement. thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The pain that you have is likely to be due to a muscle sprain or a muscle fibers tear due to an injury. MRI scan is the investigation of choice to detect any such soft tissue abnormalities. In the meanwhile, for symptomatic relief: 1. Give enough rest to your arm muscle. 2. Take mild pain killers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. 3. Stronger prescription NSAIDS with muscle relaxants may help if simple analgesics do not help. 4. Hot compresses to your arm will be useful pain relieving measure. You may apply a local analgesic gel on that area.
