Any Suggestion For Red Skin And Peeling In Labia Area After Applying Nystatin Ointment For Yeast Infection?

Hi. My 4 year old daughter had a yeast infection and was prescribed nystatin ointment USP. After 2 days of use she had a reaction to it. Very red skin and skin peeling in the labia area. I've discontinued use and have been applying A&D to sooth her. It's been a few days now and not much improvement. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

There are better treatment available for yeast infection.

Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.

Various antifungal powders like candid, fungicide etc are available.

These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.
