Any Suggestion For Severe Throat Pain, Sneezing And Mild Fever?

I am out of my home city, Bangalore, right now and I am travelling for work to Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today morning, when i got up, I had severe throat pain, sneezing and mild fever.
I was carrying Roxid(roxithromycin) -150 and Allegra(Fexofenadine Hydrochloride) - 120 with me and I have started Roxid -150, twice daily and Allegra once daily
I have also started Paracetamol - 650, eight hourly. I am feeling a little weak also.
I am carrying some b-complex capsules with me and I usually taken them thrice a week.
Is there anything alse that I should do?

Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic forum

I have read your question in detail and going by the symptoms you describe its most likely common cold with viral infection as most common cause. No more medications are needed to take apart from what you are taking except an antacid like pan40 in morning empty stomach as the antibiotic will cause increse in acid production. Viral infection will take a course of 5-6 days from the start of symptoms to subside even after medications, medications though will help to reduce the severity of symptoms..Apart from that you can do the following things:

1. Drink warm water and do gargling by mixing warm water with salt 3-4 times a day ,if throat pain persists you can buy tantum gargles(combination of antiseptic and anesthetic)/ betadine gargles.

2. Avoid unhealthy, oily and cold foodstuffs.

3. Eat well to avoid feeling weak and to improve your immunity.

4. Steam inhalation 2-3 times a day especially before sleep will help reduce the irritation.Good sleep is very essential so take rest as and when possible.

If the fever is persisting for more than 6-7days you can do blood tests to rule out malaria, dengue& typhoid which are other most common causes of fever.

Hope you find my answer useful. Feel free to ask any queries we are here to help you.Ok.Take care.
