Anything Wrong If A 3 Weeks Old Baby Has Watery Green Stools ?

Hi, my friend has a 3 weeks old baby who has 6 + watery green stool and I think it might be because the baby is hungry. I recommended to check the milk ( quality + amount ) - she refused, it made her uncomfortable. I also recommended to cook rice and and the "rice water" give to baby. She thinks, it is old and not good method. Am I wrong?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking query on health care magic.
Passing 6 watery stools is quite normal for a 6 weeks old baby.
Green color is ofcourse unusual.
If there change formula there may be slight color change.
If she is breastfed definitely it is better to rule out infection.
Rice water is not needed for the baby
.Sometimes the color change may occur temporarily.
Wait for 2-3 days if the green color continues better consult pediatrician.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required.
Take care
