Arches Fallen, Serious Pain In Both Feet/ankles. How Do I Bring Arches Back Up And Keep Them Strong And Strengthened?

My arches have fallen and I am in serious pain. Its starting to affect both feet/ankles instead of one. I am going to get new shoes, because shoes cause this problem. I have soles, but I still have serious pain in that one spot in my ankle/feet when I walk? How can I get rid of this pain? And how do I bring my arches back up and keep them strong and strengthened?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Flat foot causes pain due to loss of suspension or spring tyoe action. You must use shoes always that fit your foot properly to prevent any injury. Now for acute pain take analgesic like tramodol. To bring arches back to normal there are few surgeries depending on your problem. To keep them strong and strengthened you need to use your foot ware regularly and can do advised exercises. Consult and discuss with your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
This is just to inform you that Shoes will not cause the arches of the foot to fall.
Propably, you might be having "Flat foot" since many years which might have went unnoticed till they cause symptoms like pain.
I advice use to use "Arch bars or supports" which can be kept in the shoes which aids in correction & maintenence of the foot arches thereby relieving pain.
Regular physiotherapy is needed to gain muscle strength which helps in preventing collapse of arches.
Hope this helps
