Are Gale-E Lotion And Fusiwal B Safe For Children?

Hello, My kid went to India from USA. They got a bug bite there. Their legs filled with small pimple kind bumps, and got rashes and broken skin. My wife take them to the Dr. over there. He prescribed them Gale-E lotion and Fusiwal B Cream. I want to know are they safe to use. Because they are only 2yrs and 3 yrs old. Please let me know as soon as you can.

Hello,

Fusiwal B Cream is a combination of topical antibiotic and a steroid. It is used for an infected inflamed lesion. It is safe for applying for short periods.
I am not sure what Gale-E lotion is.
If it is a moisturizing lotion, do not apply it on the broken skin but can be applied around it.
Your children should get well soon. If the lesions become progressive or they develop a fever, the topical medicine won't be enough and they should be seen by the doctor again to consider a systemic antibiotic.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any other you are welcome to ask.
