Hi,
I can understand your concern about the 'false positive' test for amphetamine.
Yes,
phentermine has a similar structure to
amphetamines, it can turn up a false positive on urine drug screens for amphetamines.
Phentermine is an 'appetite suppressant' commonly prescribed to assist people with
weight loss. Because it is quite similar to amphetamines and act as a stimulant, hence it is a controlled substance and are often sold illicitly.
Phenteramine can be detected in the blood for (up to 24 hours), in the urine (up to 4 days), and hair (up to one month).
A 'false positive' result will signal the need for a confirmatory test, which will then show that it was phentermine and not amphetamine or
methamphetamine.
So, in view of the above, I advise you to wait for at least 4 days so that the urine test will be negative for phentermine or go for the confirmatory test that will actually show phentermine but not amphetamines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
