Are Blisters On Top Of Feet Of A Crawling Infant A Cause For Concern?
My nine month old is crawling a lot and has developed blisters on the top of his feet. I have applied antiseptic ointment , bandade and socks........is that good? Also his legs look chapped I rub baby lotion on because I can t seem to find pants that will stay on while he crawls.........any suggestions?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Blisters on feet and chapped legs can be due to irritation caused on skin while crawling. Covering the feet and legs while the child crawls is the best option. However, a clinical assessment by a dermatologist or skin specialist is required to assess the lesions. The blisters and chapped skin could be due to some skin disorder also. Thus, I suggest you to consult a skin specialist for medical opinion. Allergies, dermatitis etc can also present in similar fashion.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
