Are Burning Eyes, Dizziness, Headache With Nausea After Hit On Head Normal?
Hi. My daughter fell this evening, backwards, and hit the back of her head. She says she s dizzy sometimes, neck hurts, her temples hurt, and she had a little nausea. She is cold because she has a fever of 102.7 (?). She states her eyes burn like there is soap in them. Oh, & she s sleepier than normal. Should I take her to the ER? This happened around 9pm. Thanks
hi, Thank you for asking a question. My name is Jared Marcucci MD and I will try to answer your question and hopefully help you with your question.
The symptoms that you are describing are likely related to a concussion. Your daughters struck her head and now experiencing symptoms we see in people with conclusions.
I would recommend going to ER for an evaluation. The doctors will be able to evaluate your daughter to see if there is anything else going on that could be dangerous or need specific treatment. I would recommend that you take your daughter in to be evaluated.
Children do very well after sustaining a concussion but there are specific things to look for and certain treatments that can be recommended by the doctors to increase the likelihood of your daughter healing well.
Thank you,
Jared Marcucci MD
