Hello
Folic acid is a most potent tablet or supplement advised as supplement for women of child-bearing potential in the dosing of 0.4 mg daily.
In your case table is of 5 mg , dose is so high but not dangerous if used for short period , however in few cases may cause nausea , bronchospasm ,hypersensitivity reactions . But these symptoms are very common and not troublesome .
In anemia usual dosing is 5 mg daily ,while in neural tube defects in pregnancy the dosing is 5 mg daily and continued through 1st trimester of pregnancy .
So need not to worry you can take folic acid tablet 5 mg because of 1st trimester of pregnancy.
Good luck.
