Are Headache And Passing Out Symptoms Of Stroke?

My husband is having headaches and has been passing out. This has been happening for the last three days. He said he feels tingling in his brain before he faints. He also has type 2 diabetes, cirrhosis and stage 3 kidney failure. Also his heart dr. is considering valve replacement to end a heart murmur. Could the headaches and fainting be signs of a stroke? The cirrhosis has been stable for three years, and he takes his insulin daily.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is suggestive of transient ischemic attack. Based on the history your husband seems to be suffering from symptoms suggestive of an impending stroke apparently due to heart disease. He should be taken to emergency room of your nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
