Are Headache, Fatigue, Frequent Urination And Increased Appetite Symptoms Of Diabetes?

I think my daughter may have type one diabetes. Within the past month certain things like headaches, fatigue, frequent urination, and increased hunger have come up. Also lots of dizziness. I have heard that those can be symptoms of diabetes, so could she have it?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

What is her age? Is there anyone else in the family affected with type1 diabetes?

Diabetes can present with fatigue, frequent urination and excess appetite. Here, despite good appetite child may loose weight. But this can be ruled out with a simple blood test- fasting blood sugar and urine sugar test. If these are normal, nothing to worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
