I have a merina coil inserted 2 years ago to help with heavy periods, I have cronic back pain after 3 disc ops & nerve pain, my pain specialist just put me on Butrans patches, now I am having very bad hot flushes & sweats both day & night are these because of side affects or not good to mix both of these, thanks Helen

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to hormonal changes and is quite common on the initial days of usage. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
