Are Hypothyroidism And Osteoarthritis Linked With Each Other?

I have hypothyroidism and also osteoarthrisus are the two linked. I heard the were. In the process of having weight loss surgery to help me lose the weight lose the weight and take the pressure off my knees. Can seem to get if of the old fashion way. Just maybe about 20-30 pounds

If you are diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, it has an autoimmune origin.

Hashimoto thyroiditis is also with autoimmune origin.
In some cases there is a tendency of the body to produce antibodies against different organs, so to have poli autoimmune diseases.

That is why in a patient diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis is recommended to check for other autoimmune diseases.

If it is gonarthrosis or coxarthrosis than it is a different pathology and in these cases weight loss would help.
