Are Itchy Rashes On The Skin A Side Effect Of Taking Amlodipine?

I have experienced a very itchy rash for now 3 months. Have seen a few doctors who said that I had shingle, staph,Pityriasis, allergy, scabies, which I received treatment for each item! I think that it might be because I take Amlodipine 2.5 . should I stop taking the blood pressure medicine and take antihistamine so that the itching goes away? All I need is a doctor like you! I am very healthy and to have this urticaria and not knowing how to get rid of it is very annoying and frustrating!! a la grâce de Dieu! Claudine

Hi,

An itchy rash may be due to tenia infection or urticaria or eczema.

It may be due to an allergy to certain medication, clothes, moisturizing creams etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use antihistamine like tablet Atarax. Use local steroid cream or antifungal agents.

If symptoms not improved please consult your dermatologist he will examine if necessary take a biopsy and treat you accordingly.
