Are Levolin Syrup And Maxtra Right Medicines To Treat Cough In An Infant?
My 1 year son suffering from cold and cough. He had fever also. Doctor gave Fevago 5ml for fever, Maxtra and Levolin syrup. His fever gone, but he is coughing. 4 days gone by. Is Levolin syrup and maxtra enough for his cough? Does he require antibiotic? He is very active and taking foods normally. Please advice.

What is the nature of the cough? Is it wet or dry? Does the child vomit after cough? Most of the times the cough follows fever and cold in flu like illnesses. It occurs due to irritation of pharyngeal wall. You can continue with the symptomatic treatment with maxtra. As the child is playful, there is.no need of antibiotics as such. It will be self limiting and respond in next 3 to 4 days.
