Are Muscle Cramps And Leg Weakness Side Effects Of Amiodarone?
Cardiologist put me on amiodarone 200 mg daily. three days later my feet and legs were swelling, he told me to take 20 mg Lasix and 20mg.potassium 2 x day for 2 days. On the 3rd night later, I could not sleep, when I laid down I could not fall asleep and my muscles would start jumping, jerking and would have pins and needle sticking me all over my body. He said I should see primary doctor, wasn t medicine. Also, legs week, over tired, feel terrible in general, no strength, slightest thing wipes me out. I am scheduled to see a new cardiologist Friday the 22nd. Is this medicine causing these side effects.

Amiodarone does not cause muscle cramps and leg weakness as side effects . Your symptoms suggest that you are having peripheral neuropathy. It may be due to related to alcohol,if there is history of alcoholism.
