Are Nausea And Weakness Side Effects Of Amitriptyline?

Hi, my mom is experiencing a lot of nausea,weakness and slight headaches taking this medicine (amitriptyline). She been out of the hospital for about 3 weeks and these side effects hasn t stopped. She has seen her doctor and was told that its going take time for her to gain her strength back. We think that its more than this

Tiredness, weakness, fatigue and headache are most common side effects observed by patient who take tricyclic anti depressant like amitriptillin .
So your mother is facing same thing.
Most tricyclics are completely eliminated within 7-10 days .
If your mother is not taking this drug ( now ) , then need not to worry .
Within next couple of days all side effects vanishes .
If she is taking amitriptilin then , wait for some time till your mother acclimatize to this medicine .
Still if side effects are more serious , then consult your treating doctor and switch off to other medicine.
