Are Pain In Knee And Popping While Running Signs Of MCL?

Nearly 3 years ago, I fell skiing and landed where my knee twisted in an abnormal way. It didn t hurt at first because I had taken something for my migraine before it happened. It barely swelled, but I went running the next day and it kept popping as I ran, plus, my knee feeling like it was collapsing under me every step I took. It still bothers me, but I have gotten used to the pain so didn t think it was serious. This past summer, someone I know said that based on the spot my knee has been bothering me, he thinks it s my MCL. After hearing this, I did research on MCL injuries and everything fits except for the fact my knee has been like this for 3 years

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that it can be MCL injury. To confirm this diagnosis you need to get MRI of the knee joint. If there is MCL torn than you need to get it repaired. It can be done through a surgery. If there is no torn ligament than can also be checked.
if there is no MCL tear and only cartilage damage is there than it can also be treated through arthroscopic ally.
i hope these steps will help you. let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
