Are Sore Nipples And Pinched Nerves In Back Normal During Pregnancy?
Hi Doctor, my wife is pregnant at 20 weeks now and has been complaining for a week now about really sore nipples and pinched nerves in her back, is it normal during pregnancy she has been pregnant before but did not suffer these problems and also is there something i can do to help her get relief.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Breast engorgement is common in pregnancy, however sore nipples can be due to normal changes in pregnancy or due to cracked nipples. Cracked nipples could be due to infection. Pinched nerves in the back can be due to compression of the the nerves by the enlarging uterus. However, other causes of nerve root compression like disc changes in the spine. I would suggest her to consult a neurologist and an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
