Are Sore Throat, Back Pain And Cough Normal After Laparoscopic Surgery?
Hi, i had laparoscopic surgrey yesterday and I am in severve pain. I have been taking my pain medication and have been on bed rest with a heating pad. My problem is the constant coughing, sore throat, stomach pain, and back pain. I have had this surgery before and didnt feel this bad and i didn t have the cough or back pain and i was wondering if this is normal? Should I call my doctor?
A sore throat and the associated symptoms are sorts of anaesthetic procedure. During the procedure, ET tube is insertion the throat and thus causing throat pain.
Generally, it will settle by itself without any definite treatment. You can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.
