Are Steroids Safe To Be Given To 14 Month Baby?

hi..my son developed an allergic reaction to amoxicillin and his pediatrician prescribed a steroid for 5 days in small amount. i would like to ask that is that ok to give him oral steriod since my son is only 14 months old? what are the risk factor of taking the oral steroid in this kind of age.
