Are Swelling In The Knees, Difficulty In Walking And Diarrhea Side Effects Of Taking Medrol?

My elderly parent took medrol dose pack back in April with side effect of soft tissue swelling in her knees and she was unable to walk. Since then has had problems with diarrhea. Could this med have affected the soft tissue/GI lining of her intestine as well?

Hello,

Not very likely. Cannot say in her particular case but chronic diarrhea is a reason to assess for malabsorption, for infection of the gut and other possibilities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
