Are There Any Side Effects Of Having Cortisone?

I have been menopausal for 13 years with no problems. I had a cortisone shot May 5 2014. 13 days later I started having light bleeding for 5 days. It is now June 16 and I am having light bleeding and cramping today. I am now going through tests. PAP appeared normal. Now this week I will have a pelvic ultrasound and a painul uterine biopsy. I ve read cortisone causes bleeding. How long does cortisone stay in body. The cortisone has really helped my torn miniskus pain. Thanks a lot.
