Are There Any Side Effects Of Prolonged Use Of Insulin?

i am 60 years age.diabetic for the last 15 years.taking insulin 30,70 for the last 6 years,morning and evening alongwith glycomet igrm and pios 15.is it safe for prolonged use ,is there any side effects in the furture.i am also taking losar 25 for hypertension

Dear sir

The most known side effects of insulin usage is
1. Hypoglycemia
2. Weight gain.

most commonly people will go through these side effects. So prolonged usage of insulin causes weight gain. But if renal function remains normal then it wont be a problem

so dont worry. since you are on losartan it is indicated to check potassium always.
