Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM
There is no recognised adverse interaction between Metformin and Lopressor.
As you suspected your symptoms are due to the side effects of Metformin.
Now there are modified preparations of Metformin like Glucophage XR which produce less side effects.
You can start with Glucophage XR 500mg after dinner at bed time and if that is tolerated well, can work up the dosage to the required strength.
I am available if you have further queries.
Take Care
