Are There Side Effects For Meprate Pill?

Hi, I am 43 yrs. old. Last month my period date was 4th & every month, it used to come 2 days before. Now this month I want my periods on 05th or 06th. My family doctor suggested me Meprate tablets 10mg to be taken for 2 times a day. Kindly suggest me if there are any side effects of these tablets? Thanks!

Hello,
Thank You for the query at HealtcareMagic

Side effects of Meprate include Headache, Abdominal pain and Back pain, Rash, Vaginal discharge, Nausea, Edema, Breast pain etc. However short term use of meprate does not cause much side effects.
I would also like to add that if you are trying to postpone your period, Meprate is not the medication of choice. Medication used for postponing periods is Primolut N. Primolut N should be started 4 days before your expected period date.

Hope I was able to answer your question
Please address any more concerns
Regards,
Dr.Lekshmi
