Are Vasodilators Are Safe To Use For Working Out?

I am 23, 6'0", 180 lbs., have no health problems, no heart problems, and am extremely physically active. I was considering taking supplements for lifting weights and cardio exercising, but I don't like all of the caffeine and other stimulants that are in most workout supplements along with the high caloric content of most. My friend in grad school recommended that I try vasodilators to increase the blood flow to my muscles. Is there anything I should be concerned about if I took these for working out? And is there a certain type of vasodilator that would be better suited for this than others?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question. I would like to enlighten you that no vasodilators can be used without its indication and in your case, these is not any indication to use it.
So i strongly suggest you not to take any kind of vasodilators or any other medications without consulting a physician. All vasodilators have its side effects and most commonly it can lead to hypotension, which is a very dangerous condition.
So please don't take any medicines just for the sake of your work out. You can use protein supplements and i would recommend you to have healthy diet avoiding oily and junk food, drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine containing drinks.
This will surely help you and feel free to ask any of your further queries directly to me anytime. Wish you a healthy life ahead.
