Are Weight Gain, Cold Feet, Sleeplessness And Brittle Nails Symptoms Of Hypothyroidism?
I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism I have had blood tests, I also have gained a lot of weight, cold feet and hands, sleeplessness, brittle finger nails. Are these symptoms consistent with hypothyroidism, in particular the insomnia which is getting worse.
Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM. Yes all the symptoms that you have mentioned go along with symptoms of hypothyroidism only. There might be other symptoms too like dry skin, heat intolerance and so on. Depending upon the blood report of thyroid study you need to start on thyroid supplemental medications like thyronorm or eltroxin in dosage depending upon TSH values. Kindly consult your doctor for starting the medications. Your symptoms will slowly go away with treatment. I hope I have answered your query well. If you have any more question kindly write back to me, will be happy to help you out. Thank you
