Arthritis Pain, Loose Stools, Restless Arm Syndrome. Stopped Tramadol. Received Avena Sativa Tincture. Take Ibuprofen?

I am on day 3 of stopping tramadol for bone on bone arthritis pain. I was taking up to 400 mg's a day and when I started needed a 9th pill, I thought this is fucking ridiculous. My first 24 hours was loose stools, sweating, chills, extreme pain on day 2, but day 3 I'm feeling a lot better. I'm still not sleeping. Night 1 was horrible restless arm syndrome and I got about 30 mins sleep. I was in fits. Night 2, no restless arms, about 3 hours sleep. I've took a Mag/sulf bath before bed, which I believe is why I slept a "bit" better. Today, I received my Avena Sativa tincture and I will try it tonight. My main concern is my bone on bone pain. After 3 years of tramadol, which I'm guessing was hard on my liver, should I use Ibuprofen or tylenol? I know that ibu taxes kidneys and tylenol taxes livers, correct? I just want to be able to walk correctly again.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Tylenol has less adverse reaction then ibuprofen so you can use that.

You can start cartilage protecting medication for arthritis like chondritin sulphate, that you need to take for couple of months.

If required MRI knee can be done and if there is severe destruction of menisci then arthroscopic shaving can be done.

Physiotherapy like ultrasound and tens will help, along with exercises.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
