Asthernospermia In The Semen Analysis. Can You Explain The Semen Report?

I have gone through semen analysis the following is the report
ABSTINANCE PERIOD , 15 DAYS VOLUME 02 ML , APPEARANCE OPAQUE, COLOUR- GREYISH WHITE , LIQUEFACTION- 30 MINUTES, LESS THAN 1 HOUR, VISCOSITY- NORMAL, pH - ALKALINE(8)
SPERM COUNT 60.1 MILLIONS/ML, TOTAL SPERM COUNT 120.2/MILLIONS/ EJACU
MOTILITY AT MINUTES
ACTIVEL MOTILE 05 %, SLUGGISH MOTILE 25 %, NON PROGRESSIVELY MOTILE 10%, DEAD IMMOTILE 60% MORPHOLOGY 90 % NORMAL MORPHOLOGY, IMPRESSION MILD ASTHENOSPERMIA

Hello

Thanks for your query.Based on the report of your semen analysis that you have posted it appears that you have what is termed as Asthenospermia.meaning there by percentage of active motile sperm is less than WHO standards.Active motile sperms are the main important sperms as for as conceiving is concerned and minimum percentage of active motile sperms should be 15-20%.


This could be normal variations which is common while doing microscopic examination of semen and needs to be confirmed by doing semen analysis for three times at intervals of one month before getting labelled as Asthenospermia.

Please do not worry and repeat your semen analysis after one month.
