Babies Born Under Weight. Difference Between Dexolac, Nan Pro 1. How Much Quantity To Be Given?
Hi Doctor, We are blessed with TWIN GIRLS, they were born in the 31st week (in 7th Month of Pregnancy)..with a weight of about 1.8Kgs each. Doctors advices us to use Dexolac special care milk powder..as mother milk was not sufficient. Now..after two months after they are born(they are nor more than 2.5Kgs), Doctors adviced us change the milk to Nan pro 1. What is the exact difference between both Milk powders? How much quantity should we feed and how many times a day ? We were feeding like every 2hrs (roughly 10 times a day) 150ML (with two+ scoops of dexolac before), should we follow the same with Nan pro 1. ? with Nan pro 1, sometimes babies throw away some milk from their mouth(kind of vomit ) like after 1 hour of feeding...is it due to change in Milk or due to gas trouble ? Please answer...Thanks in Advance.
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Dexolac special care is meant for preterm babies. They have more calories and less protein load with more electrolytes.
Nan pro 1 is meant for term babies.
Ideally the twin babies should have been fed breast milk only.
Babies should be fed on demand but it roughly stands out to be 10-12 times a day.
1 oz water should be mixed with one whole scoop of milk.
The throwing up of milk is called regurgitation. It is usually due to inadequate burping after feeds.
Hope this answers your query.
If you have any other queries kindly direct them to me.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
