Baby, Suffering From UTI, Meningomyylocoele, Hydrpcephaulus. Vomiting Tablet, Prescribed Niftran. Alternative Medicine?

Doctor have prescribed Nitrofurantoin Tab for my baby who is suffering from urinary infection as he is suffering from meningomylocoele and hydrocephalus and dont have control on bowel functioning. Unfortunately I am not able to give him the tablets as he is vomiting back due to the bitterness, He suggested to have Niftran 100 mg syrup but unfortuntely not available in the market. Can u please suggest an alternative for this medicine in syrup mode please ...

What is the age of your child?

If he is not taking nitrofurantoin tablet, you can try one of the another antibiotics like amoxyclav, cefixime, cephalexin.

But these antibiotics are prescribed medications and you need pediatrician consultation.

And the dose depends on the weight of the child.

Therefore you inform to your pediatrician and get prescription of an appropriate antibiotic.
