Bit By A Pit Bull Dog, Beneath Back Of Leg, 4 Stitches, Hard Lump Near The Wound, Calf Numb. Reason ?

I was bit by a Pit Bull dog 1 week ago a little beneath the back of my leg behind the knee. The gash was about 2" L x 1" W x 3/4" D and required 4 stitches. Now, there is a hard lump near the wound and my calf is partiallt numb. What could be causing the numbness and the hard spot?

Thanks much in advance!

Sincerely, AAAA

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Looks like you have had a deep wound. Dog bites must be cleaned well before stitching the wound. I am sure your doctor has taken care of all necessary precautions.

A wound as described by you would need a bit of time to heal. Right now healing has just begun and granulation tissue is forming inside. You will have a lump like feeling. Please take serratiopeptidase medication to enhance healing after consulting your doctor.

Hope this helps.
