Bitten By A Cat, Severe Pain In Wound. Okay To Take A Vaccination After Five Days?

Hi Got bitten by my cat last night. She doesnt have anti rabies vaccine . The wound hurts a lot but I have not taken any vaccination yet. Is it okay if I get the vaccination 5 days after my cat has bitten me? I also have work in the field so I always walk all the time. Anyway,my cat always stays at home and not taken any food except cat food.

hi,

thanks for writing to health care magic.

No you should get the vaccination immediately along with tetanus injections

Do not take the risk of waiting for 5 days......... it would be dangerous.

Go a head and meet your doctor immediately and start you vaccination.

Staying at home or not having any food other than cat food will not guarantee that a cat does not have rabies
