I repeatedly get bleeding sores above my pubic region (where most of the hair is). The sores are very red, itch , slight discomfort, and bleed. They ultimately clear up but then return within weeks. I fear it s genital herpes but everything I read seems to suggest genital herpes does not generally occur in that area (at least by itself). I also never experience symptoms in any area but there. I have attached a pic. I have been with many different women over the last year ... so I am quite worried. Thoughts?
Hi there. Read your history & details with interest. I have a few thoughts...Firstly, it is very likely that what you have read has misled you. Yes Genital herpes has certain 'favoured' regions namely mucous membranes or junctions with skin/mucous membrane. However, no site is exempt especially as (by your own admission) one has been promiscous or had multiple partners! So please go ahead & do blood tests to check for Herpes1&2 infections with both IgG & IgM done to ascertain recent or long standing infection. This will ease your worry once & for all & give you an objective yard-stick & may just be some other ailment. In which case please visit your nearest dermatologist.
