Blood In Bowel Movement. Done Urinalysis, Done Rectal Exam. What Should I Expect?

My 7yr old daughter has blood every time she has a bowel movement. Took her to Emergency room last night and they did urinalysis and found no blood there but after they gave me discharge papers and I demanded a rectal exam then they confirmed blood there but did nothing. Please help.is this free because I don't have money at this time. I need help for my daughter.

I am sorry about what your daughter is experiencing right now.

Blood in stool is never normal. Common causes include constipation, anal fissures, hemorrhoids, intestinal parasites(worms, bacteria) etc. It could be a more concerning thing but her age makes these one less likely.

Start by checking if the stool is hard or not. If it is, then probably this is the cause and addressing constipation by increasing vegetables, water and fruits intake will help. This is often sufficient.However, if there is no obvious answer, then get the child for a stool exam to look for germs and further testing if answers are not gotten.
