Blood In Stools After Hemorrhoidectomy. Taken Pain Reliever, Valium, And Sitz. Normal?

I am 22 days out of hemorrhoidectomy and a 2 days ago I had 2 bm's and had some blood on paper. Didn't take stool softener for a couple days and today had a harder bm and hurt for 3 or more hours as if it was two weeks back, until I took pain reliever, valium and sitz. I looked in mirror and there is a suture around 11/2 in hanging out. I do see my dr tomorrow but is this normal?

Hi,
Welcome to Health care magic forum.

With the available details, there appears to be possibility of constipation induced bleeding at hemorrhoiectomy site.

There could also be possibility of anal fissure.

You should consult with general surgeon/ your treating doctor should go for per rectal examination.

You should continue hot sitz bath and apply calcium dobesilate ointment.

You should also take laxative under guidance of your treating doctor.

Thanks,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
